The International Society for the Psychoanalytic Study of Organizations' (ISPSO) invites you to the
European Regional Meeting in Lausanne (Switzerland): 3-5 July 2026

Between Doubt and Conviction
Leading Organizations in a Turbulent World

What does it take to decide when you cannot be certain in a turbulent world? This question sits at the heart of leadership today — and it has no clean answer. The conditions many leaders, boards, consultants and coaches now navigate are not merely uncertain. They are brittle, anxious, nonlinear, and incomprehensible — and defeat the conventional tools of strategic planning and composed authority.

The 2026 ISPSO European Regional Meeting continues a thread begun in Geneva in 2019, when ISPSO explored Between Neutrality and Engagement — what it means to hold a bounded, present stance in a fractured world. That inquiry was about how we hold a stance. This one is about how we decide.

Between Doubt and Conviction is not a call to be more decisive, nor a defense of hesitation. It is an exploration of the discipline required to move between them, so as to be able to commit clearly when the moment demands it in spite of the perpetual presence of doubt. The three days enact what they explore. Participants do not simply discuss this tension. They experience it, in themselves and in the room.

The architecture moves deliberately: arriving with the tension alive → testing it against reality → authorising a response. Not toward resolution — toward a more disciplined relationship with the tension itself.

More information will follow soon.
