About Me

For the past 30 years, I have worked as a consultant to organizations with CFAR (a management consulting firm). During that time my focus has been in applying ethnographic skills to the study of, and intervention with, organizations. That interest led me to explore ways in which psychoanalysis and systems thinking complement ethnographic methods. This pursuit resulted in working first on the faculty of the William Alanson White program in Organizational Consultation and presentations at IPTAR and the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (BPSI). In addition to consulting, I continue to enjoy teaching in programs at BPSI and in the Dynamics of Consulting program offered annually in New York. Along with my colleague, Barry Dornfeld, PhD, I wrote a book that describes ways in which culture and organizational change work in organizations (sometimes successfully and other times not). The book received an award from; Strategy, as a leading book on organizational culture. Currently I am doing some consulting work and some teaching and enjoying working on making the 2019 Annual Meeting in New York City as successful as it can possibly be. List of Publications:,The Moment You Can't Ignore, co-authored with Barry Dornfeld, PhD. Public Affairs Press, 2015. Building and Sustaining Organizational Change (with Larry Hirschhorn) CFAR- unpublished manuscript, 1994. Groups, Knowledge Workers and the Production of Documents (with Larry Hirschhorn) CFAR -unpublished, 1991 The Boundaryless Organization (with Tom Gilmore and Larry Hirschhorn) Healthcare Forum Journal, July-August, 1994
