The symposium theme I would like to contribute to in my paper is: 'Under what circumstances does diversity become politicized and converted into rivalry?' Systems-psychoanalytic approaches to organization examine how competitive forces (exacerbated by the financial crisis) in today's financial organizations contribute to the creation of organizational mechanisms, that block communication and learning from each other by changing diversities into projective interfaces. Anxiety in organizations related to the primary task and created by the system frequently ends up in projections of negative feelings onto the 'Other', where the only common ground is 'complaining' about the system.
