A Systemic Approach to Consultation
This book discusses the application of systemic thinking to consultation with organizations. The authors draw upon their experiences of consulting to teams, departments and whole organisations in both the public and private sectors. They describe their work as an integrated approach called Development Consultation, which focusses on the beliefs and behaviours in the wider system which makes it difficult for organisations to manage their own processes of change. The authors then discuss the way they formulate systemic problems and interventions, particularly the interviewing technique they have used in many situations. The book is intended as a handbook for professionals engaged in consultation work.
